Overthink The Best

🌟 Last night, I had an incredible followup with an amazing college baseball client that I’ve been working with. He used to overthink….A LOT. It was hurting his game especially at the college level. But he’s learned the tools to change that and it is so amazing to witness.

Overthinking is something many of us face from time to time; some more than others. It's a challenge that myself and even one of my sons have faced. Over the years, we've learned how to harness our tendency to overthink and turn it into a force for our benefit.

A quote that resonates deeply with me is: “If you can overthink the worst, you can overthink the best too. Your mind is powerful; give it a direction that lifts you, not one that scares you.” This reminds us of the immense potential our minds hold. We have the ability to shape our thoughts and, therefore, our experiences. Using our mind as a positive tool is vital for happiness, success, strength, and faith.

So, how can we transform those negative overthinking thoughts into something uplifting? Here are a few strategies:

1. Pray: Remember, God is always here to help. Lean on your faith during times of uncertainty.

2. Visualize: Picture your goals and dreams. See them in your mind over and over; visualization can be a powerful motivator.

3. Deep Breathe: Engage in box breathing or try a physiological sigh. These techniques can ground you and reduce anxiety in moments of stress.

4. Affirm Awesome Things to Yourself: Speak positivity and success into your life. Affirmations can reshape your mindset and boost your confidence.

5. Inner Mind Recordings: Instead of falling asleep to the television's background noise, listen to positive affirmations paired with calming music. Reprogram your mind while you rest.

I want you to know that I’m here to guide you, whether you’re dealing with stress on or off the field of life. Let’s reframe our thoughts together and embrace the power of a positive mindset. Remember, your mind is a powerful tool, much more powerful than you know! God doesn’t make mistakes—let’s use our gifts/minds to lift ourselves higher, not let it drag us down.
